The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on Tuesday has extended greetings to the government of people of India on the occasion of the 77th Indian Independence Day which was celebrated on August 15, 2023.
It is to be noted that, Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit took it to his official social media handle to share the wishes and greetings to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
While taking it to his official social media handle, Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, added that, “On this esteemed occasion of India’s Independence Day, the Government & people of Dominica extend their sincere congratulations & warmest greetings. As our nations celebrate the spirit of freedom and sovereignty, we reflect on the shared values that bind us.”
Considerably, Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, while extending the wishes on the occasion of Indian Independence Day, emphasized on the sovereignty and the common values that both of the nations share in order to bolster the bilateral relations together.
At the same time, while replying to the Tweet shared by PM Roosevelt Skerrit, Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, also took it to his official social media, adding that, “Thank you, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, for your wishes on our Independence Day.”
It is to be specifically mentioned that the island nation of the Commonwealth of Dominica enjoying cordial relations with India since the diplomatic relations were established in 1981.
The strong ties between both the countries were widely recognized during the tough times of COVID-19 pandemic. Considerably, during that time, when the world was suffering the shortage of vaccines, India was among the first nations to extend a handful of help by sending consignment of vaccines manufactured by the Serum Institute of India.
Both of the nations have also been working on establishing strong bonds, which are even growing more close as they are working together for an open, prosperous, secure, stable and resilient world.
