The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit on Monday, has extended the wishes on the occasion of World Labour Day. Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit took it to his official Twitter handle to extend to the wishes on the occasion of World Labour Day.
It is to be specifically mentioned that the Prime Minister of Dominica, emphasized on the efforts as well as the contributions of the hardworking men and women who are making day and night contributions in an attempt to uplift the nation to achieve a great path.
While extending the Labour Day greetings, PM Skerrit said that, “Today, on Labour Day, let us recognize the tireless efforts as well as contributions of the hardworking men & women who make our nation great.”
At the same time, PM Skerrit encouraged everyone in the nation to continue with the firm spirit for bright future ahead. Noting to which, PM Skerrit added that, “We must continue to work together towards brighter & more prosperous future for everyone.”
In the social media post, PM Skerrit, while extending the wishes on World Labour Day said that, “On this special day, may your hard work & dedication be recognized and appreciated, and wishing all workers a Happy Labour Day.”

The International Labour Day is celebrated across the globe on May 1 every year. This day is basically observed to raise the awareness about the rights and opportunities of the workers in each segment of the society.
Notably, Labour Day for the very first time was celebrated on May 1, 1890, following the proclamation by the first International Congress of the socialist parties in Europe on July 14th 1889, in France for dedicating May 1 as the ‘Workers Day of International Unity and Solidarity.’ Over more than 80 nations across the world celebrate Labour Day as a holiday.
