The Member of Parliament of the Castries South and the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire, on Friday took it to his official social media handle to share an update on the number of guests who arrived in Saint Lucia on Arvia’s call on January 18th, 2023.
Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire, took it to his official social media handle to share the update among the general audience, adding that, “Seeing the number of guests who disembarked on Arvia’s call to Saint Lucia on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 was very encouraging.”
Notably, more than 1800 guests have landed at the shore via the cruise ship. Noting which, Deputy PM Hilaire mentioned that, ” Over 1800 guests book shore excursions through the cruise ship. Outside of this, over 1000 more people got off the ship to explore our beautiful island and go into the communities for authentic Lucian experiences.”
In reference to this, Deputy PM also highlighted how it has benefitted the local economy of Saint Lucia, including which, Hilaire noted that, “This benefited our local economy tremendously as it hires several St. Lucians as tour guides, agents at the port, taxi drivers and all the other jobs both directly and indirectly involved in the cruise and tourism sector.”
At the same time, Deputy PM Hilaire added that, “We are prepared to make their visit more impactful as well as the visit of all cruise ships and visitors to Saint Lucia alike.”
