St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) has officially announced the results of the recently held elections for the positions of Chairperson and two Vice-Chairpersons. The elections were held at the St. Peter’s Anglican Church Hall on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
Reportedly, the elections were held with an aim to put together a ‘Red and Ready’ dynamic executive committee that led the constituency in its new term.
SKNLP Constituency-8 conducted a successful executive committee election as a part of new term leadership readiness.
As per the sources, there were total ninety-five dedicated voters which were combined together from the four districts and participated mainly from Cayon, Keys, Conaree and St. Peter’s.
The SKNLP constituency demonstrated its commitment to shape the future of the party which was dedicatedly headed by the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis – Dr. Terrance Drew, who is also the Parliamentary Representative.
The results of the elections declared represents the data that shows Chairperson Avonelle Martin of St. Peter’s with 59 votes. And Vice Chairpersons Doan Ferdinand of Conaree with 58 votes and Shannoid Bass of St. Peter’s with 45 votes.
It was noted that during the elections, the voting body of constituency passed a motion to include the Heads of the three District as floor members on the executive committee. Kelvina Salters from Cayon, Dominic Stevens from Keys, Gavin Williams from St. Peters and Valencia Martin from Conaree was elected as an additional floor member.
Moreover, it further enhanced the representation and diversity within the leadership of the constituency. The positions of Public Relations Officer (PRO), Secretary and Treasure appointed for the role are expected to fill within the one month of the elections conducted.
Considering a brief statement was issued by Kenny Douglas on his social media page which states that he is pleased to introduce everyone to the newly elected team of the executives for the SKNLP Constituency Branch-5.
He mentioned that the branch-5 constituency is an experienced and dynamic team which is ready to serve the nation and continue the work within the constituency.
Kenny Douglas extended his congratulations to the new team members and is excited to work with them for the good that they can do.
The new executive team members of the constituency-8 are Saphire Matthew for Constituency-1, Desica Nisbett for Constituency-2, T’Shaunte Smith for Constituency-3, Taiyonce Liburd for Constituency-4, Tamiqua Douglas for Constituency-5, Adoncia Mulraine for Constituency-6, Cleo Fahie for Constituency-7 and Jewvonna Morson for Constituency-8.
